The +Superior Program is an incentive measure for higher education attendance in regions of the country with lower demographic pressure and lower student demand. Through the allocation of annual financial support, this program seeks to promote a more balanced territorial distribution of the student population and contribute to territorial cohesion.
The +Superior Program is a measure that aims to encourage and support higher education attendance in regions of the country with lower demand and less demographic pressure, targeting economically disadvantaged students who usually reside in other regions.
The +Superior Program seeks to contribute to territorial cohesion by retaining young people and to achieving the goals of Portugal 2020 regarding the number of young people with higher education.
O general term To apply for the mobility grant under the +Superior Program, the following procedure applies: from June 25th until September 30th. The scholarship can also be requested between October 1st and May 31st, in which case a proportional scholarship will be awarded, considering the period between the month following the submission of the request and the end of the academic year.
Payments for mobility grants are made on the dates specified in an order from the Director-General of Higher Education, approved for each academic year.
In the eligible regions – North, Center and Alentejo – these scholarships are co-financed by the ESF – European Social Fund, within the framework of PEOPLE 2030 – Thematic Programme Demography, Qualifications and Inclusion.
