
The launch event for the EEA Grants Portugal programs for the period 2021-2028 took place this Thursday, July 2nd, at the Goethe-Institut Lisbon. The session marked the official start of a new cycle of cooperation and investment of €126.3 million in Portugal, funded by Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein, with the aim of supporting initiatives that contribute to a greener, more inclusive, democratic, and resilient Europe.
The Institute for Higher Education (IES, IP) was represented at the event by its Vice-President, Cristina Perdigão. IES is participating in this new cycle as a national partner, alongside the Agency for Research and Innovation, IP, in the “Blue Growth” project. This project, developed in partnership with the Directorate-General for Maritime Policy, focuses on the blue economy and reinforces the institutional commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the sharing of international knowledge.
Throughout the session, which included the formal signing of the Programs, the priorities and funding opportunities that will guide this investment period were presented, highlighting the impact of bilateral partnerships in responding to future challenges.
