Joaquim Mourato, President of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Higher Education (IES), participated in the event dedicated to the analysis of the implementation and results of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), which took place at the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon on July 28.

Integrated into the dimension “Transition — The future that the PRR finances”, IES was represented by Joaquim Mourato in a program that brought together officials from various public entities and strategic organizations for the country's development, with the aim of reflecting on the impact of investments financed by the PRR and future challenges in areas fundamental to competitiveness, innovation, territorial cohesion, digital transition and sustainability.

IES's participation highlighted the role of higher education in economic and social development, as well as the importance of investing in qualifications, knowledge, research, and innovation to build a more competitive and resilient future.
The event was also attended by representatives of national organizations, public institutions and members of the Government, including the Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida, and the Secretary of State for Planning and Regional Development, Hélder Reis.

The presence of IES in this initiative reinforces the institution's commitment to valuing higher education and to achieving the strategic priorities supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
