Reuniao-Agencias-3

The Institute for Higher Education (IES) was present at the third meeting of the Network for Participation of National Agencies (NAs Participation Network), which took place between May 26 and 28, 2026, in Tallinn, Estonia.

The meeting brought together contact points for the participation of the National Agencies of the Erasmus+ program and the European Solidarity Corps, as well as representatives from SALTO Participation and Information (SALTO PI).

The meeting brought together 35 participants from 24 countries, with the aim of strengthening the integration of democratic participation into the activities of the Erasmus+ program, especially with a view to future development from 2027 onwards. During the event, strategies were discussed to make democratic participation an effective practice in the daily lives of organizations, highlighting the importance of cooperation, shared responsibility and the active involvement of citizens in decision-making processes.

The Institute for Higher Education contributed to the discussions, reinforcing its commitment to promoting participatory practices and developing more inclusive and collaborative educational policies. The Institute's presence at this meeting demonstrates its commitment to monitoring European priorities and collaborating in building solutions that value the participation of different stakeholders in the sector.

Throughout the meeting, it became clear that democratic participation should be understood not only as a goal, but as an ongoing process based on trust, dialogue, and cooperation between institutions and communities. Practical examples and innovative initiatives were also presented, including study visits to Estonian organizations that promote the active involvement of young people and critical thinking.

The meeting also included sessions led by the participants themselves, highlighting the network's growth and the strengthening of the sense of belonging and shared responsibility. The importance of the role of National Agencies and contact points in linking local contexts and European policies was also made clear.

By participating in this event, the Institute for Higher Education reaffirms its active role in building a more participatory, inclusive higher education system aligned with European values.
