Lisbon will host the EAIE Annual Conference in 2027.

The Portuguese capital has been announced as the next destination for Europe's largest international education conference, under the theme "Luminous Perspectives". IES – Instituto para o Ensino Superior officially joins as a supporting partner for this major event in the sector.

It has been officially confirmed that the seven hills of Lisbon will host the global community of international education professionals in 37th Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition (European Association for International Education), which will take place from September 7th to 10th, 2027.

Based on the revolutionary ideas generated at EAIE Glasgow 2026, the organization expressed its enormous enthusiasm for opening this new chapter, bringing this energy to sunny Portugal for the very first time. IES – Institute for Higher Education, It is an honor to be featured on the panel of official partners that make this journey possible, along with Study & Research in Portugal and the program Erasmus+, seeing its contribution to higher education and academic excellence recognized.

The theme selected for 2027, “Luminous Perspectives, It functions as both a reflection and a celebration. The concept captures both the radiant, sun-drenched landscape of Lisbon and the diversity of ideas, visions, and experiences that define and strengthen the sector.

At a time when global uncertainty may suggest isolation, this theme emerges as a call for openness. As a global meeting point for more than 7000 professionals, EAIE Lisboa 2027 will provide a space to connect partners, strengthen collaboration, and gain practical perspectives through workshops and networking activities. The event invites the sector to look outward and embrace complexity and the nuances of differences not as barriers, but as foundations for growth and innovation through face-to-face knowledge sharing.

Evoking Lisbon's pivotal role in the Age of Discoveries and its legacy of exploration, courage, and curiosity, the conference aims to serve as a "beacon" for the community. Through sessions led by leading minds in the sector and peer-to-peer learning opportunities, institutions will benefit from expert guidance to navigate the complexities of the current educational landscape, reaching new levels of shared understanding.

The meeting of brilliant minds already has a date and location set: from September 7th to 10th, 2027, at the facilities of FIL – Lisbon International Fair and Congress Centre, located next to the Tagus River, in Parque das Nações.
