Local Competitions – Public

There are courses whose specific characteristics justify that access and admission be through local competitive examinations.

The holding of local entrance examinations is subject to express authorization, by decree of the member of the Government responsible for higher education, upon request from the higher education institution and after a favorable opinion from the National Commission for Access to Higher Education.

The relevant decree establishes the general rules that must be followed in the process of evaluating eligibility for the course, as well as the criteria for selecting and ranking candidates.

Applications for local admission processes are made directly to the higher education institution that offers the course the candidate wishes to enroll in.

For information on application requirements, deadlines, available places and applicable procedures, please consult the information provided by the respective higher education institution.
